Where does the generosity of people come from. Over the past few weeks some of the most important fund raisers have been broadcast over the airwaves. The Jerry Lewis telethon and the Stand Up to Cancer telethon. One brought in nearly 58 million dollars and the cancer one brought in over 80 million dollars. Where did this money come from in such a poor economy? That is over 130 million dollars that was just given away to finding cures for two devastating diseases. They both kill you. They both can lead to horrible deaths and eat away at your body. Thru the generosity of all of us the American people we together dug into our pockets and pulled together what little money we have and donated to very worthy causes. It brings tears to my eyes to know that over 80 million dollars will be used to research the cancer issues and they are sooooo close on some of the types they know how the cancer works and grows and feeds and eats and spreads. They are getting to know just how to stop it from feeding and growing and soon they will know how to kill it. So God forbid if my cancer ever comes back maybe just maybe they will have a total cure so that I will never have to ride the linear accellorator again and have permanent lasting effects from treatments. Maybe it will just be a pill that you take that will erase all the cancer from your body. ( Leave me alone let me dream) That would be wonderful. Anyway let the scientists work and create a cure for this horrible disease and if there be a need for another Stand Up to cancer show then by golly lets donate another 100 million to let the scientists create the cure!!!!
